Guns printing by 3D printer? Well that's it!
I guess you've kept in mind the story of this guy (Cody Wilson so) who, first, had put online the plan of a fully printable 1 shot gun on an 3D printer? Yes, the ugly white and blue thing that fires an ammunition of 9 × 19? It was a big buzz in 2013. Since Cody was on trial with the federal government and his site had been closed.
Well he won! After an agreement which the Americans have the secret, it is now legal to offer to download any weapon of a lower caliber ... the .50 BMG (the good old 12,7mm). To laugh.
In short, and in two words, we attend:
- The emergence of a new market (or in any case a "mutant" form of the market)
- The end - in terms - of the industry as we know it today
- Freedom - for an investment of less than 2000 dollars (computer not included) - for any individual to have a reliable defense, quickly operational and ... made at home, yeah, like the knit sweater !
- The obsolescence (also in terms) of the different legislations, rules and others, all over the world. Because I do not see how you can ban a simple computer file. And certainly not its diffusion ...
