9K38 Igla surface-to-air missile system (SA-18/GREAT), for suppression of aircraft over the range 100 to 3500 meters in altitude and a range up to 5200 meters (for targets going at a speed of320 to 400 m / s) – supplied complete with its shooting station9P516and two missiles9M39. “Fire and forget” fire control –passive infrared homing, for a P (probability of kill – probability of destruction of the target) of 30 to 48%.

Served by one to two operators, via the firing station9P516– overall mass of 17Kg (including 10,8Kg for the missile), put in combat order in a few seconds. Missile9M39– HE head with1,27 kgof explosive – mass of 10,8Kg, for a length of 170cm, a diameter of7,2 cm & a wingspan of 16cm (tail deployed).
