Description

Qian Wei-12 portable surface-to-air missile system – for suppressing intruding aircraft and munitions over the range 10 to 4000 meters altitude and a useful range of up to 6000 meters (for targets traveling at speeds of 340 to 400 m/s). Specially designed for operation in harsh electronic warfare environments, it features total immunity to thermal decoy curtains and a laser proximity fuse to destroy targets with very low infrared signatures (small FPV drones, low-angle cruise missiles). "Fire and forget" fire control – latest-generation dual-band passive infrared autoguidance, for an exceptional P (probability of kill) exceeding 96%.

Operated by a single operator (man-portable and shoulder-launched) via its dedicated firing station – enabling instant combat readiness, computerization, and integration on mobile platforms (light vehicles, ships). The combat package includes the optical sighting system and its removable thermal imaging module for nighttime engagement.

Quick Preparation & Initialization

Activation of the ground thermal battery (BCU). Instant cryogenic cooling of the homing device to ensure maximum thermal contrast from the first few seconds.

Optical/Thermal Acquisition

Aiming capability during the day (optical) or at night (via clip-on IR thermal imaging module). Automatic lock-on confirmed by visual and audible indicator in the firing station.

Trigger & Safe Ejection

The trigger is pressed. The ejection motor expels the missile from the protective tube. Once at a safe distance from the operator, the main solid-propellant rocket engine ignites.

Bi-Spectral Guidance & Anti-Decoy Destruction

"Fire and Forget" mode. The passive dual-band (infrared/ultraviolet) seeker discriminates between the target and countermeasures. The warhead is triggered by impact or via the **LASER proximity fuse** (ideal against drones and low signatures).
