Description
Marathon OSAR-D Automatic (41mm) – Original SAR w/ Date (Steel) – Originally designed in the early 2000s for Canadian government Search and Rescue (SAR) technicians, this watch marks the genesis of Marathon's legendary SAR line. Manufactured in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, according to ISO 6425 standards, it features a 316L surgical-grade stainless steel case, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a cyclops lens for the date, and is water-resistant to 300 meters (1000 feet).

Built on the foundations of its illustrious predecessor, the new OSAR-D (Original Search and Rescue with Date) has been redesigned with larger geometric indices, an improved cyclops lens and a precision Swiss automatic movement Sellita SW200-1 (26 jewels, 28,800 bph), secured by a shock absorber Incabloc®.
Unlike conventional GSAR models that use Tritium, the OSAR-D uses proprietary technology MaraGlo™This advanced luminescent coating is applied to the hands, the Type I dial markers and the bezel triangle (at 12 o'clock), providing an intense and prolonged glow after exposure to light, without the radioactive aspect of Tritium.
Designed to withstand the most inhospitable terrain, it features a knurled screw-down crown for easy gripping even with gloves, and a unidirectional rotating 60-minute bezel. This model comes with its strap in solid 316L stainless steel surgical grade (20mm), featuring robust screw links and a diving extension perfectly suited for wearing on a wetsuit or tactical sleeve.
